Nigerian Economy
The Nigerian economy slipped into recession in 2016, but has posted consistent growth since then.
According to the NBS, the performance of the economy represents an increase of 0.27 per cent points when compared to the fourth quarter of 2017 which recorded a growth rate of 2.11 per cent.
The figure also indicates a rise of 0.55% points when compared with the growth rate recorded in Q3 2018.
On a quarter on quarter basis, real GDP growth was 5.31%.
“The fourth quarter growth performance implies that real GDP grew at an annual growth rate of 1.93% in 2018, compared to 0.82% recorded in 2017, an increase of 1.09% points”, NBS said.
During the quarter, aggregate nominal GDP stood at N35.23 trillion, which is higher than N31.275 trillion recorded in Q4 2017, a nominal growth rate of 12.65%.
Man United to face Spurs in Shanghai summer clash
Manchester United will play Premier League top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a pre-season glamour friendly in Shanghai, the Old Trafford club said on Wednesday.
At least six major English clubs will visit China this summer with Manchester City, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers taking part in the Premier League Asia Trophy on July 17 in Nanjing and July 20 in Shanghai.
United will face Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs on July 25 in Shanghai, by which time the future of interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to be resolved.
Conditions are likely to be testing in Shanghai that time of year, when temperatures can exceed 30 Celsius (86F) with high humidity and the likelihood of heavy rain.
But the Premier League and clubs see such trips as a prime opportunity to grow their fan bases in China, the world’s second-biggest economy.
This will be United’s fourth visit to Shanghai, the last time being 2016, when Jose Mourinho was in charge.
On the same tour, the first Manchester derby to be played overseas had to be cancelled at the last minute when the pitch at Beijing’s “Bird’s Nest” stadium was deemed unplayable because of rain.
United in January said they were opening a series of “entertainment and experience centres” in China, where they claim to have more than 100 million followers.
Barcelona are also scheduled to visit China in the summer.

Number two is an unknown Instagram celebrity, who calls herself Roman Goddess. According to Cossy, the girl, who was a fan turned up on her birthday and pronto, Cossy had another challenge on her hands.
“She’s a super sexy curvy chick,” says Cossy. “She carry front, she carry back. She is too packaged. I must examine and evaluate this super sexy curvy chic. She’s a good fan that has turned a friend” she said.
Number three is a Ghanaian upcoming actress and model called Duchess Ella. Unlike the duo mentioned earlier she has never met Cossy but people have been blowing up a possible confrontation between them.
Duchess made a great hit with Instagram followers notching up close to fifty thousand followers. She’s very huge in the bosom but she doesn’t flaunt it like Cossy or Roman Goddess. Just like Sarafina once said, “ What’s the use of flaunting my boobs when they are all out there for people to see”. Duchess Ella must share the same belief.
